From the end of May until the first week of August 2018, the MCL Construction team has been busy completing the first phase of construction at Marian High School. Students will notice some significant changes when they return to the classroom.
In just 75 days, MCL Construction completed the renovation of 35 classrooms. Students will notice new paint, new carpet, new ceiling, and new light fixtures when they return to school.
Faculty and staff at Marian High School will have a new spacious break room to enjoy during down time and lunch periods. This area also includes new restrooms for faculty, a workroom for teachers, and a renovated office for the school principal.
There are news doors and hardware for the classrooms. This provides a new added layer of security for students and teachers.
A reminder that areas in and around the school will be an active construction zone for the entire school year. It's important to pay attention to the signage located throughout campus to make sure everyone remains safe and does not venture into a dangerous area.
MCL Construction will keep this blog updated with project updates and news regarding construction activity on a regular basis.
The school has been under construction for a little over a month an a half. This time-lapse video shows the progress of what is taking place on the outside of the building.
When you walk inside the building, you would think there is no way in the world this place is going to be ready for school to start in August. Some areas will not be as they are part of the Academic Excellence Center but the majority of classrooms that are getting a face-lift will be done, and the halls will be safe to walk from class to class.
Keep checking back as we will have more information on what to expect when school starts which will include tips for navigating around construction activities.
MCL Construction broke ground on the project a little over a month ago and things have changed a lot! You will noticed a wide open space that will soon be home to the new entrance and academic center.

The old entrance to the school has been completely demolished. The space will become part of the new academic center.
New offices for the Principal and large break room are part of the interior renovation.
Classrooms are getting new paint, new flooring, and a new ceiling that will include LED lighting. Yes, these rooms will be ready by the time school starts.
Even the art room is getting a fresh look with a little creative maneuvering.
This is just one month of work, when you check back in another four weeks it will look completely different. You can follow the progress of the project by checking the Facebook photo album or checking back to this website on a regular basis.
